What do you think of these couples?

Writing a story always means creating a new world (including its people)...even if the characters live in the here and now. After all, their world is not completely like ours. It's merely a variation, which in turn makes it all the more exciting because in their world anything is possible.

In my historical romance series Love's Second Chance Series, every novel follows another couple led into a marriage of convenience, who need to work through the demons of their past on their way to a happily-ever-after. They each get their own story. However, they all share the same world, and as we all know, worlds tend to overlap, bringing main characters from a previous novel back as minor characters in a sequel as well as vice versa. Isn't it always nice to visit with people we used to know and see what they've been up to since we last saw them?

While I was working on novel five in the series and the number of characters grew...and grew, I realized I needed some kind of chart to keep track of them. To be honest, at the moment, I have more than one as there are simply too many of them to fit them all into one nice little overview. However, upon request, I have decided to share with you all the one chart detailing the main characters' appearances since book one (at least as far ahead as I am currently aware of them).

So, who is connected to whom? And in what way? Who has appeared in most novels? Who do you wish to see again?

Do you remember them all? By the way, the red numbers indicate the title in which the couple is featured as the main characters.

As you can see, some of our beloved characters have not yet been assigned their perfect match. However, I promise I shall keep you posted once they decide to reveal themselves. As a little heads-up, I can say that Oliver's story (coming in book eight) has already found a worthy heroine. Only her name still eludes me. When the time comes, I shall put it to you all to help me decide and offer your suggestions. After all, wasn't it a  wonderful reader who suggested a most beautiful and unique name for Anna and Edmond's little girl?

For now, I would love to hear your thoughts on the couples we have met so far? Who is your favorite heroine? Your favorite hero? Who annoyed you the most? Who surprised you when you least expected it? Who would you love to see again? What is your opinion of the paired up couples of future novels? I know you haven't met all of them yet, but September 12 (release day of book six) will be here sooner than you think. If you can't wait, then sign up for my launch team and start reading as soon as tomorrow.Save

  1. I really liked Ellie and Beth. Both were so sweet and patient. I found Anna frustrated me in the first part of her book. I feel all the heroines found their perfect match, but I really like Connor and Henrietta together. From the beginning he saw and admired her fire, and he patiently and lovingly waited for her to overcome her inner demons. Also, given her past, I was surprised and pleased that she wasn’t as resistant to Connor as Anna had initially been to Edmond. And I loved how fiercely loyal Henrietta became toward Connor.

As far as future couples, I loved Derek and look forward to seeing how he wins Madeline’s heart with his unimpressive (to her) title and his run down property.

Pairing Adelaide with Matthew briefly crossed my mind at the end of book 7. I’m interested to see what unfolds so that her father agrees to that match.

Also, I look forward to seeing Richard thaw a bit. I knew for him to be friends with Sebastian, there had to be another side to him.

  2. I especially loved Ellie and Beth for how sweet they are. I found Anna frustrating for have of her story. I do feel that each heroine found her perfect match, but I especially liked Connor and Henrietta together. He immediately loved her fire, and he was so loving and patient as she took the time to conquer her inner demons. I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed easier for Henrietta to overcome her issues than it had been for Anna, and I loved how fiercely loyal Henrietta became to Connor.

As for future couples, I loved Derek and look forward to seeing how he wins Madeline’s heart without the title she desires and with a run down property (unless he’s had time to fix it now).

At the end of book 7 I briefly considered a pairing of Adelaide and Matthew but figured her father would veto it. I’m excited to see how that comes about.

I’m also happy to see that Richard will find his match. I knew to be friends with Sebastian, he had to have another side to him. Also, rescuing and taking in Charlotte seemed to indicate his compassion. I’m happy it seems we’ll get to see him thaw a bit more.

  3. I love all the couple pairings because they are all unique in their own way. My favorite couple has always been Anna and Edmond but Beth and Tristan have moved right next to them. Book six is so good! I found Henrietta always to be annoying but she did surprise me in her own story. I look forward to the future pairings……especially Derek and Madeline! Excited to see Claudia and Victoria will receive their own stories. I would like to see Maryann from book three find love again and Moira from book four….it would be great if she married an Englishman!

  4. I like Rosabel. I felt bad that her aunt and uncle didn’t care about her, but I was so glad she had Ellie in her corner, and that she was steadfast in her love for her cousin during Ellie’s own uncertainty.. I hope to see both characters again.. I hope Rosabel and Ellie have a wide circle of friends among your heroines. They put others first, and I love that.

I’m only on book 3 right now but I’ve ordered the whole series of second chance books.

Maryann…I would like to see her get a second chance, too.
